Situated on the crest of the Coromandel ranges on the 309 road. Mahakirau Forest Estate comprises almost 600 ha of native forest. Each site is convenated by QEII National Trust who describe Mahakirau "outstanding for it's ecology and wildlife value with brown kiwi, kaka, Hochsetetter's and Archey's frogs all present". There is so much to do from kayaking, to chartered fishing adventures, Hot Water beach & Cathedral Cove a short drive away. The house works well for couples, business travellers, families. Linen is included in the cleaning fee, so bedding & towels are excellent quality. Beach towels can be provided on request for an additional charge.

We have two buses side by side for group bookings for four or more people just open now for Xmas period. This private wee campsite has all the amenities for friends or family looking for privacy this summer. Beautifully surrounded by nature,the river and sea are right here on your doorstep. Cathedral Cove and Hot Water beach are just over the hill and all the Coromandel activities are within an hours drive.
