200 year old Coastguard cottage.

Situated at the beach on the Manse Rd in Cloughey, the cottage is 200 years old and has a self-contained annex at the back. There is a magical, tropic garden at the rear of the property which is approx 60m long, with many areas to relax in. The cottage faces directly east so the sun rises in front of you with uninterrupted views - the beach is 10 metres away. We love dogs and know they will also enjoy our garden and the beach so the gardens are secure and gated. There is Bistro 100m away

Less than an hour's scenic drive from Belfast, from the Annex, walk the coast to Knockinelder beach for a wild swim, or paddle board with the visiting seals and curlews. Cycle the Ballyquintin route or try the nearby golf courses. Drive to Portaferrry to eat or get the ferry to Strangford. The Little Birdhouse

Its name is both a nod to Bird Island on Strangford Lough and a reflection of our aim to create a cosy nest in which guests feel snug, comfy and relaxed. The furnishings are a mix of antique, vintage and second-hand finds that come together to create a cosy, relaxed, eclectic vibe that's stylish and reflects our commitment to recycle and re-use.

Sitting on the shores of the Irish Sea, Keeper’s Cottage provides a comfortable base from which to walk, beachcomb, birdwatch and explore. Close to the villages of Portaferry, Cloughey and Strangford, the area is rich in wildlife and heritage. Or just relax by the fire and soak up the magic of this unique place. Our other cottage, which is immediately adjacent, sleeps 4 and people often rent the two properties together for larger groups.

The balcony at the front of the property has views towards Scotland and the Isle of Man and is a perfect place to enjoy your early morning coffee or the evening sunset with a nice glass of wine. The rear views take in Kirkistown Golf Club and Kirkistown Castle.
