Highbourne Cottages - Protea | Mountain Retreat

Tucked away on the side of a mountain overlooking the surrounding mountains. Protea cottage is open plan family cottage with the heart of the cottage opening onto a wooden deck – the perfect spot to watch the setting sun. The cottage sleeps up to four people with one large open planned studio-style bedroom on the ground floor and an open loft upstairs with two single beds, just perfect for a family of 4. The studio design allows flow from the well-equipped kitchen to the lounge area and bedroom.

Mpofu Lodge

Nestled within the foothills of Cathkin Peak, Mpofu Lodge offers a peaceful escape from the bustle of city life whilst being within close range of Champagne Sports Resort, the Drakensberg Boys' Choir School and Monks Cowl. Enjoy all the berg has to offer from our self-catering accommodation which boasts three en-suite bedrooms in the main house, a plunge pool, fireplace and endless vistas. There is a separate family style suite detached from the house which can accommodate a further two people.

Our home is a place to retreat with family and friends and breathe in the peaceful environment. With quiet roads throughout the estate, kids can ride their bikes while the adults stroll and lookout for Eland, Zebra, Hartebees and Bontebok. This beautiful environment is an eco estate, we require guests to sign an agreement at the gate to follow the rules of the estate. There are stunning views of Cathin Peak and Champagne Castle from the verandah of the cottage. Within a short drive, of the Estate, there are restaurants, golf courses, spa , monks cowl nature reserve, Falcon Ridge- Bird of Prey Centre, laundromat, shopping centre.
