Wheatlands Country House on historic Karoo farm

Wheatlands is a magical place! Experience the comfort and luxury of Wheatlands Country House which sleeps 10 guests in 5 spacious bedrooms. Built in 1912 this historic home boasts high, pressed ceilings, wood panelled walls, beautiful handcrafted stained glass windows, book lined corridors and antiques that have been collected through generations. We are a working wool and mohair producing Karoo farm in the heart of the Eastern Cape, situated 50 km south of the attractive town of Graaff-Reinet.

Komskloof Farm Cottage

Our cottage is nestled on a beautiful working Karoo farm in the Camdeboo mountain range, 25 km from Aberdeen along a scenic gravel road approximately a 30-minute drive. The entire cottage is available to guests and includes two separate en-suite bedrooms, accommodating either two couples or four individuals. It features a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor braai facilities. Guests can enjoy hiking across the farm, admiring the birdlife, or having a picnic amidst the serene surroundings.

Ironstone Cottage

Fully self catering, 2 bedroom farm cottage, 1 double bed, 1 king bed/twin, each with en suite bathroom. Plunge pool, firepit, Wifi, aircon, indoor fireplace, barbecue. Linen & towels provided. 4x4 or high clearance strongly advised PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AIRCONS ARE PROVIDED FOR COOLING THE HOUSES IN THE HOT SUMMER MONTHS BETWEEN OCTOBER AND APRIL, NOT FOR HEATING AS THE FARM IS ON SOLAR. Electric blankets, blankets, duvets, hot water bottles are provided and each house has a fireplace.

The Gats River meanders through our breathtaking kloof, where rock pools make for a fun dip once the rains have come. It's a nature-lover's paradise!

Grandpa's Cottage, Wellwood Farm

If you are looking for an authentic farm stay experience then Grandpa’s Cottage is perfect for you. This original farm house was built in 1843 and offers a unique blend of historic character and modern comforts. Here, you can immerse yourself in the rhythm of farm life, explore the natural beauty of the region, and savour the serene environment. Whether up early or simply enjoying the night sky free from city lights, Wellwood provides a unique and rejuvenating retreat.

Gordonville Cottage - Sneeuberg Nature Reserve

The Cottage at Gordonville is located 90km from Graaff Reinet and 40km from Middelburg. It sleeps four, with two en-suite bedrooms, equipped kitchen and living area. Have coffee and rusks on the East verandah while watching the sun rise, and sundowners and a braai on the West verandah Take a walk or mountain bike ride across the vlei where Springbuck, Eland, Blessbuck, Zebras and Nguni graze, and pack a picnic to enjoy by one of the streams.

Karoorest cottage on Sneeuberg farm

Stay in one of two rustic cottages on a beautiful, working farm in the Sneeuberg mountains. These cottages are best suited to families who will enjoy connecting with farm life. Go for a long mountain walk or sit on a rock and listen to all the sounds in the silence. We also offer Family Constellations Therapy sessions and workshops for groups. Individuals travelling out of season can ask about reduced rates.

Oudeland Guest Farm

Oudeland Farm guest house offers a comfortable self-catering farm stay in the Graaff-Reinet district, available for farm holidays or overnight stay. There is also a fully catered option available. The farm offers a variety of activities or you can simply come and enjoy the peace, tranquillity and beauty that our working sheep and cattle farm has to offer. The farm is situated in the heart of the karoo.

Nestled between the mountains of the picturesque Erasmuskloof outside Graaff-Reinet, Gryshuisie is a recent addition to Waterval farmstay.
